Finance Manager
Job Description
This position requires the utmost spiritual confidentiality and maturity. This person has access to all sensitive materials pertaining to the operations of the church. This person should be task oriented self-starter with the ability to handle multiple projects at one time. Leadership skills are essential to the success of this position.
Financial Operations
This position works with the treasurer to insure accuracy and integrity in church financial accounting. It will include practicing, improving, and documenting best practices and procedures to include but not limited to:
- Weekly deposits and contribution entry and tracking
- Monthly reporting
- Monthly reconciliations
- Weekly bill entry and printing
- Monthly credit card entries
- Bi-annual tax refund requests
- Annual giving statement printing and distribution
- Yearly budget creating and tracking
Organization
Filing and storage of important documentation is crucial as we strive to be organized, efficient, and transparent in all we do financially. This position will be responsible for efficiently organizing and storing the following items for easy accessibility:
- Personnel files
- Vendor files
- Credit card receipts and statements
- W9 forms – vendor compliance
- Check stock care / custody / control
- Financial reports – payroll, reconciliation, monthly reporting, etc.…
Leadership
This position is a leader and a resource for the individual responsible for Grace Christian Academy’s (GCA) finances. They will oversee and support all areas of GCA’s finances. This includes helping them establish the best practices for the school’s financial needs as they grow.
- Oversee all GCA financial transactions
- Assist in monthly reconciliations and reporting
- Provide support for administrative assistant in all financial areas
Payroll
One area in particular that requires confidentiality and responsibility is the entry and recording of payroll. You will be responsible for the accuracy and timely entry of payroll on a bi-weekly basis for both TLC and GCA.
- Bi-weekly TLC & GCA payroll entries
- New hire paperwork
- Update employee tax records and paperwork
- Bi-weekly payroll journal entries and tracking
